The trees that we planted in the fall are budding. Yay for spring!

A few days ago Jace smashed his pinky finger moving some equiptment. It was completely black yesterday. He poked some holes in the nail to relieve the pressure. It doesn't look as bad now, but the nail is preparing to come off. It's pretty nasty... you can wiggle it at the bottom and tell that it's totally detatched under the skin.

I love this little girls eyes. They don't miss a thing! Her eyes are my favorite right after she gets out of the bath because her lashes are wet and it just looks so cute to me. I love her!

I have to tell you a secret. The lens flare in this picture is fake. (Gasp!) I've been trying like crazy to figure out how to shoot sun flare and make it reflect and look pretty in my pictures, but it's just not happening. So I added it while editing. It makes me wonder if professional photogs use fake lens flare as well. I'm guessing yes.

We've had a warm couple of days, which is great for my peas! They have already started to germinate and I couldn't resist digging one up to show you.

I don't love this picture. I was busy baby sitting today and Ellie has been super cranky. I realized as the sun was setting that I hadn't taken a picture yet and all my light was gone, so I figured I'd snap the sun set. Better luck tomorrow I guess.

If you would have told me 5 years ago that I'd be riding around in a dusty truck with my sexy farmer husband taking pictures of cows, I would have been really excited! This may not be the way I pictured my life, but it sure is great. I love that it's simple and slow-paced and that we don't have to "keep up with the Jones'".

I have a garden. Well, I have seeds. And they're in the ground. Waiting to grow. Isn't that exciting? Today Jace and I planted snow peas and red and yellow onions. In a few weeks we'll plant carrots, bell peppers, and lettuce. I can't wait to try them!

Picture Life workshop
I know you've heard about Holly, from Blogging with Holly. Who in the blogging world hasn't? The girl is amazing, talented, and beautiful! Well, she's giving away one free spot for her Picture Life photography workshop... and I decided that I'm going to win it! Many photographers have inspired me to want to learn how to improve my photos, and Holly is at the top of my list. I love how she captures the personalities of her cute kids and I would absolutely love to be able to do that for my own family. So here's a prayer to the blogging giveaway gods! Pick me... I will forever be grateful.
And just because I know you need your daily fix... here's my adorable child!

Good morning sun! I'm not so much a morning person, but there are good things about getting up early. (Let's be honest, I took this picture at 6:55, so it wasn't that early!) Morning or evening, I love the sky here. It's always gorgeous.

I had cupcakes for my Activity Day girls today. Why do I love sweets so much? They actually didn't even taste that good - cheap ones from the grocery store. I still ate two of them! After I took this picture I threw the cupcake in the trash. Not kidding, 15 seconds later Ellie had pulled herself up on the trash can, stuck her hand in the frosting, and was licking it off her fingers. Kind of gross, but pretty funny.

I am unhappy with 9 out of 10 pictures of myself. I love this one. I just feel like this is really me.

We started our Valentine's Day with whole wheat waffles and homemade syrup. Yum! So good. I was proud of myself. They were the first waffles I've ever made that actually turned out the way they were supposed to.
