30/365

Disclaimer: Sometimes I feel very vulnerable posting pictures I take - especially because I know that there are people who actually look at this blog (which, I'll be honest, really surprises me!). Because it's a picture blog, I don't want anyone to assume that I think I take good pictures. I don't like a lot of them, however, I am an ammature and sometimes I just don't know how to fix my mistakes. Like this picture below... I took it in my bathroom at night. Taking pictures without natural light is difficult. I could have probably changed a setting or two on my camera and it wouldn't have been so grainy and yellow, but I didn't think of it until I uploaded my pictures, looked at it and thought, "gross". My point is, I don't want to feel pressure to make every picture pretty. I don't even want to have to edit a picture if I don't feel like it (like the un-edited picture below). I would rather just know that people who are looking at this blog aren't expecting anything and are not judging me for my lack of photog knowledge. Are you ok with that? Thanks, 'preciate it.

So about the picture... I tried to just take a simple self portrait. Easy, right? NO! I am not photogenic! And I know this sounds dumb, but I feel like I used to be photogenic. Am I aloud to say that? It sounds like I'm full of myself. I am SO not. (I just re-read that and it's probably the stupidest thing I've ever written, but I'm leaving it.) Anyway, after about 20 smiley pics, not one of which I liked, I decided that fishy faces are more flattering and I'd go with that. But the whole reason I was taking a picture of myself is because I got a new hair cut today. What do you think?

You know what Erin? You DO have a lot of raw talent. Not every picture is going to turn out like you want it to, that's the beauty of digital cameras! I love to come see what you've taken, you always find the neatest shots. You inspire me to be a more creative photographer!

Darling! And your pictures are REALLY wonderful! You should be very proud of yourself. And don't ever think your audience is going to get sick of farm pictures. They are amazing and you would hold us captive each of those 365 days this year if you just did a farm study through the eyes of your camera. Hello, most of us are stuck in some city and would love to see a little green field or cotton every now and then!
